Driven by desperation to fund his wife's medical treatment, Galang joins his father-in-law, Mr. Mulyo, on a late-night fishing trip, deliberately breaking a local fisherman's taboo. The folklore warns that sailing on the night of a full moon is forbidden, for it summons a blood-red moon with a light that awakens the sea to devour any who dare disturb its slumber. Mr. Mulyo dismisses the tales as superstition, but out on the dark, tranquil water, the old warning proves terrifyingly true as the moon begins to glow with a sinister crimson light.
